The ASIrri project operations in Cambodia are managed through a partnership between GRET - Groupe de Recherche et d'Echanges Technologiques, a French NGO working in Cambodia since 1988 (www.gret.org) and CEDAC - Centre d'Etude et de Développement Agricole Cambodgien, a Cambodian NGO (www.cedac.org.kh).
Both organizations have an already long experience in agriculture and irrigation management. They collaborated for establishing the FWUC in Prey Nup and in Stung Chinit schemes between 1999 and 2009. The ASIrri project is an occasion for them to strengthen their partnership in the irrigation sector and to create a permanent team specifically dedicated to irrigation management.
A project management committee involving both organizations was set up in order to discuss startegic issues and directions together.
A coordination committee was organized at mid-project to present achievements to donors and government partners.
The local team received technical supports from various experts from CEDAC, GRET and outsiders.
The project team is sending technical and financial reports every six months to IRAM and to AFD.
This organizational setup premitted a clear follow-up of all activities by the different stakeholders and ensured that all decisions were shared and transparent.
